Microsoft Office Suite is the most popular productivity suite in the world. Among them, Microsoft Word is probably most of the most used office applications. And there are several factors to this. The software is full of features, offers hundreds of templates for productivity tasks, creating reports, CVs, etc. It is available on all platforms. In addition to that, you can customize the Word document with dozens of fonts. If that’s not enough, you can also download fonts, install them in Office applications, and set them as default on software like Microsoft Word.
Using a custom font can improve the appeal of the document. People also opt for custom fonts when some of their favorite fonts are missing from the Microsoft Word font gallery. The good news is that there are many ways to download them from the Microsoft Store and the Web.
In this article, we will explain how to download custom fonts for Microsoft Word, install them and set them as the default font in the software. Let’s start.
Download new fonts from the Microsoft Store
As mentioned earlier, there are two easy ways to download new fonts to Windows 10. Follow the steps below.
Step 1: Press the Windows button, search for Settings and dive into the Windows Settings menu.
2nd step: Go to the Personalization> Fonts menu.
Step 3: Here you will find the list of fonts available with an option – Get more fonts in the Microsoft Store.
Step 4: The Microsoft Store offers a slim collection of free and paid fonts. Select the one you liked and click on the “Get” button.
For example, in the screenshot above, I installed Convection fonts originally designed for the Microsoft Xbox entertainment system. I have an Xbox lying around, so the fonts would bring consistency among Microsoft services to me.
