How to Find and Edit Zoom Recordings on Mac and PC
The zoom is undoubtedly one of the most popular video communication tools in recent times. You can also record your meetings and sessions, and this feature makes it easier to review meeting details at a later time. And unlike Skype, here the records do not disappear after 30 days.
Although Zoom also allows you to save meeting and session recordings to the cloud, this option is only available for Business and Education accounts. If you don’t have one either, these recordings will be stored in the local drive of your Mac and PC.

How to Find Zoom Records on Mac and PC
The good thing about Zoom is that the application interface is almost similar for Mac and Windows PC.
Step 1: Open Settings by pressing the gear icon in the upper right corner.
Click Record and you will see the location of the local record.
Click Open and the Zoom folder on your PC or Mac will open immediately.
2nd step: The folder name has the date as a prefix, followed by the host name and the meeting ID. Double-click the icon and you will see the audio and video files.
By default, records are automatically stored in the Documents folder.

You can change this location. To do this, click on Edit or on the drop-down menu and choose a folder from the list.
However, if you want to save the recordings to project-related folders each time you record a meeting, the best option is to activate the “Choose location to …” option.
This allows you to choose a different location each time you need to save a file, saving you time in the long run.
How to Edit Zoom Records on a Windows 10 PC
Since we’re talking about local recordings here, editing them is a breeze. You don’t need to go through the hassle of uploading these recordings to random third-party servers. Instead, they can be changed within the safe limits of your PC.
If you’re looking to do something basic like cutting the start and end point or splitting the clips in half, the video editor in Microsoft Photos lets you do it all.
Editing with it is an easy deal. What makes the deal even more enjoyable is the inclusion of features such as speed, text, filters, etc.
To modify a zoom record, follow the steps below.
Step 1: Click on the Add icon at the top and select the record you want to modify. Alternatively, you can also drag and drop videos directly. Once done, select the video and click the three dots button at the top.
Select the Place in storyboard option from the menu.
2nd step: Once done, select the option of your choice. In my case, I chose to go ahead with Trim.
Click Trim and drag the Start and End markers to your preference. At this point, you can also add original text, gestures, or filters.
Just click on the associated icons above and you’ll see the options on the side of your screen.
For example, if you want to add a particular piece of text to appear on a certain part of the video, add the text, and then drag the markers to the point of your choice.
Once you’ve edited the entire video, click Done.
Pro tip: You can even add a title card to the video to make it more elegant. This feature is useful if you want to share this video.
Step 3: If you’re happy with the overall look of the video, click the End Video button in the far right corner, give it a name, and that’s about it.
And yes, you can also choose the final video quality. For now, Microsoft Video Editor allows you to choose between High (1080p), Medium (720p) and Low (540p).

How to Edit Zoom Records on Mac
Likewise, on the Mac, you wouldn’t need a professional-quality video editor for the job. Instead, simple apps like iMovie will do the job very well. Unlike the Windows tool, iMovie has a simple and refined interface.
Step 1: Once you’ve launched iMovie, tap the Plus icon at the top to create a new project.
2nd step: To access Zoom records, you must import them manually. In addition, you will also need to grant folder permissions.
To do this, go to the folder where the recordings are saved.
Stage 3: After importing the video, you will see all the options like Transition, Background and Audio in the menu at the top.
To cut a film, drag the handles and cut the part you don’t need.
Similarly, to add titles and text, click on the option above and choose a style of your choice. Once finished, place it in the timeline and adjust it if necessary.
The good thing about iMovie is that you don’t need to manually save the movie / video recording. To render the file, click the Export button at the top and choose the required option.
