How to Get Google Forms Responses in Your Email
And when you do, the email notification does not contain the form responses. This means that you will need to visit your Google Forms dashboard to view the respondent's responses to your form.
Why waste time and Internet bandwidth by leaving your inbox in the Google Forms dashboard when you can pop up the responses in the notification email?
There is a Google Forms add-on that gets you there, and everything you need to know to do it in this post below.
Sending form responses to your email
Step 1: When you're done creating or editing your form on the Google Forms dashboard, tap the add-on icon in the upper left corner of the page.
2nd step: Tap the "Email notifications for Google Forms" option.
Step 3: In the new window that appears, select the option "Create an email notification".
This brings up a new section in the lower left corner of the Google Forms page. This is where you would customize the content of the form responses that would be sent to your email.
Step 4: Type a name in the Rule Name section. The name of the rule can be the same as the title / name of your form. In this way, the rule would be easily identifiable if you had to modify it later.
Sstep 5: Then enter the email address to which you want to send the form responses. It can be the same email address connected to your Google Form account or an entirely different address.
Step 6: Scroll to the bottom of the window and press the Save Rule button to finalize all changes.
And that's it. Whenever there is a new response to your form, you will be notified of the respondents' responses / responses, also appearing directly in the mail.
You will no longer have to visit the Google Forms dashboard to view responses to your forms, unless you want to.
Customization of selection and response model
Another thing that I loved about this add-on is that it allows users to customize the template of their form responses.
This means that you can choose which question (s) you want to display their answers in your inbox.
Step 1: Press the Edit button next to the "Use a visual editor" option.
This opens a new & #39; Email Template Designer & #39; window.
2nd step: If you only need to view the answers to a particular question, clear the & #39; {{All answers}} & #39; in the body of the message and press the drop-down button “Add a form field”.
Step 3: In the "Reply to …" section, select a question for which you would like to be answered in the reply email.
You can select multiple questions one after the other.
Step 4: In the Generic section of the form field, you can also choose to add other optional details such as form URL, response date, response ID, etc.
Just tap on one of them to add it to your model.
Step 5: When you’re done customizing your form template, tap the Save button.
Save time with add-ons
Google Forms add-ons allow you to get creative with your forms. This e-mail notifications add-on saves you time as it provides all of the respondent's responses in the notification e-mail. Without leaving your inbox, you have all the information you need. It even allows you to customize the notification email template. You should definitely try it if you are a frequent Google Forms user.
