How to Show All Channels in Microsoft Teams on Mobile, Desktop, and Web

Microsoft Teams works much like Slack, where you create channels to communicate with team members on specific topics or projects. Most teams have a few channels, but the Teams app displays only one or two and hides the others by default. So every time you want to send a message or interact with someone on these hidden channels, you sacrifice a few extra clicks. Yes, even I find it unnecessary. This message will help you get the Microsoft Teams app to show all channels, regardless of the platform you’re using it on.

In comparison, Slack displays all channels by default, so why don’t the teams do it? Well, Microsoft may have its reasons, but we are sure that the company will correct these problems in future updates. The good news is that you don’t have to wait for them. There is a way to display all channels in the Teams app. It is simply not selected by default as it should be.

Let’s start.

More Favorites Option

The first users of the teams would remember the favorites’ confusion function. Tagging a channel favorite would move it to the top of your list, roughly how the feature works in Outlook. Microsoft has released an update which replaced it with the show / hide option instead. The good news is that users have also improved channel notification handling. We will report this below. Now let’s go hide and seek with the chains in Teams.

How to view team strings on Windows 10

Step 1: Find and open Microsoft Teams in the Start menu.

You will see a list of channels in the sidebar when you click on the Teams tab. There is a lot of space, and that is because Teams hides a few channels (provided you have more than two). You will see the exact number in a parenthesis. Click the arrow to the right to display a list of hidden channels and select the one you want to view and access.
