How to Use Apple Music in Dark Mode (iOS and Android)

Relaxing late at night with Apple music is fine. But looking at the screen to change tracks in a dimly lit environment isn’t exactly a comfortable experience. The bright white background of the application will probably make your eyes bleed.

That’s why it’s essential to switch Apple Music to dark mode, at least overnight. Fortunately, the app offers full support for dark mode on iOS and Android. Well done, Apple.

But activating the dark mode in Apple Music is quite different on the two platforms. Let’s take a look and check what you need to do to use Apple Music in dark mode.

Apple Music – iOS

On the iPhone, the dark mode of Apple Music is linked to the color scheme of the iOS 13 system. This means that you must activate the dark mode for your entire iPhone or iPad if you want to turn off the lights of the Music app.

To activate dark mode, first display the Control Center. On iPhones with Face ID functionality, just swipe down from the top right corner of the screen. IPhones with Touch ID require you to swipe up from the bottom of the screen.

Once you’re there, long press the light bar and tap the icon labeled Dark Mode.

This should put Apple Music in dark mode automatically, along with the rest of the operating systems and other native apps. Some third-party apps that support a darker color scheme, such as Google Chrome, may also appear in dark mode.

Another quicker way to switch to dark mode is to paste a dark mode control directly into the control center. To do this, go to iPhone settings> Control center> Personalize, then Add dark mode via the More controls section. You can then access the dark mode control simply by opening the control center.
