Top 6 Ways to Fix Android Phone Stuck on Boot

Blocking the Android phone on the start screen is not common. The problem usually occurs when applying a new update or installing an app from an unknown source. While your troubleshooting options may seem very limited, there’s always a chance to get past the splash screen.

1. Force restart

Force restart or restart is the first thing to do whenever your Android device gets stuck on the start screen. This requires holding specific combination buttons on your phone.

To force restart, press and hold the power button on your phone for 30 seconds and release it after the device is turned off. Leave it there for a minute or two. Now turn it back on to see if it boots normally now.

2. Remove the battery

If your phone’s power button is unresponsive and your phone has a removable battery, you can try removing it to turn off your phone. Wait 10 seconds after removing the battery. After that, insert the battery and turn on your device.

3. Charge your device

If your phone does not go past the start screen, it could also be due to a low battery. So, you can try plugging your phone into a power outlet and doing a force restart as mentioned above to see if that fixes the problem.

4. Try Safe Mode

Safe Mode on Android is a great tool for doing basic troubleshooting and finding out for yourself what is causing your phone to misbehave. You can also use this mode to fix Android phone booting issue. Let’s see how.

Step 1: Turn off your device by holding down the power button for 30 seconds or removing the battery. Wait for your device to turn off completely.

2nd step: Now press and hold the power button and wait for the logo to appear. Once the logo appears, press and hold the volume down button and your phone should boot into safe mode.

If your phone boots normally in Safe Mode, you can be sure that the problem is due to some third party app on your phone. You can try uninstalling some recently installed apps or games and restart your phone to exit safe mode.

5. Clear cache data

Android phones tend to collect all kinds of cache data because we keep using it every day. And while this data is aimed at helping devices run faster, it can sometimes get corrupted as well. So, if deleting apps doesn’t help you, you can try clearing cache data on your phone.

Reset Android Via Safe Mode

Enter Safe Mode by following the steps mentioned in point 4. From there, here is how to clear cached data on your phone.

Step 1: Open the Settings app on your phone. Scroll down and go to System. Expand Advanced and go to Reset options.

2nd step: Then click on Delete all data (factory reset) option and then click on Erase all data button to start resetting the phone.

Wait for the reset process to complete. It may take a while, so it is advisable to keep your phone charged or connected to a power outlet while resetting.

Reset Android Via Recovery Mode

Step 1: Turn off your phone and enter recovery mode by pressing the power button and the volume down button at the same time.

2nd step: In recovery mode use volume buttons to scroll menu, highlight Wipe data / factory reset. Now use the power button to start the factory reset.

Wait for the process to complete and your device will restart. It will be as new as when you first bought it.
