2nd step: Select your email account on the next screen for which you want to receive notifications but not receive them. Scroll down a bit and select Notifications.

There are four options. All new emails will send you a notification for every email you receive in your Gmail account. As the name suggests, the principal will only send notifications for emails received in the Main tab. The high priority will only send notifications for emails deemed by Gmail based on your previous usage to be important. To be on the safe side, choose All new messages and then take them from there. You can always go back and change the settings if you think you are getting too many Gmail notifications on your iPhone.

3. Add a Gmail account again

Removing and adding the Gmail account can help purge junk and corrupted files, giving you a fresh start.

2nd step: There are two options here. One is the blue button which will turn off Gmail. It should be enabled; otherwise, you will not receive notifications. Tap “Remove from this device” and follow the onscreen process.

4. Update the Gmail app

A bug or other error could be responsible for this strange behavior. Updating to the latest version of the app can help fix these bugs and broken features. While Apple does a good job pushing app updates, you can still grab and apply updates manually.

5. Reinstall the Gmail app
