Top 6 Ways to Fix Gmail Notifications Not Working on iPhone

Gmail is so popular that even iPhone users prefer it. Being popular doesn’t mean that something is perfect and bug-free. All applications suffer from bugs and generate errors. 1. iPhone notification settings

Things work differently on iPhones. First, we will check if notifications are enabled for Gmail on your smartphone.

Step 1: Open Settings and go to Notifications> Gmail.

The first thing you need to make sure is that the Allow Notifications option is turned on. Once this is enabled, you can choose how you would like to receive Gmail email notifications. On the lock screen, in the notification center and in the banners. The banner style can be set to be temporary or persistent. 2nd step: Select your email account on the next screen for which you want to receive notifications but not receive them. Scroll down a bit and select Notifications.

There are four options. All new emails will send you a notification for every email you receive in your Gmail account. As the name suggests, the principal will only send notifications for emails received in the Main tab. The high priority will only send notifications for emails deemed by Gmail based on your previous usage to be important. To be on the safe side, choose All new messages and then take them from there. You can always go back and change the settings if you think you are getting too many Gmail notifications on your iPhone.

3. Add a Gmail account again

Removing and adding the Gmail account can help purge junk and corrupted files, giving you a fresh start.

Step 1: Tap your profile icon and select Manage accounts on this device.

2nd step: There are two options here. One is the blue button which will turn off Gmail. It should be enabled; otherwise, you will not receive notifications. Tap “Remove from this device” and follow the onscreen process.

4. Update the Gmail app

A bug or other error could be responsible for this strange behavior. Updating to the latest version of the app can help fix these bugs and broken features. While Apple does a good job pushing app updates, you can still grab and apply updates manually.

Open the App Store, search for Gmail, and see if you show the Update button. No update is available if you display the Open button instead.

5. Reinstall the Gmail app

There is no direct way to clear cache and data of individual apps on iPhone. However, uninstalling and reinstalling the app can do the trick. Press and hold the Gmail app to select Remove app, then open the App Store to reinstall.

When reinstalling Gmail, when you open the app for the first time, you will be prompted to enable / allow notifications. Please allow it and to be sure also check the iPhone and app settings as we saw earlier.
