Top 6 Ways to Fix iPhone Not Sending Pictures Issues

Have you tried sending photos of your daughter’s school to your grandmother via iMessage, but your iPhone was raining during your parade? Or maybe you sent a photo of your new cat to your roommate using a cellular network (via MMS), but it doesn’t work? Do not worry or get angry yet, as we have found the best six (6) ways to fix the problem in the paragraphs below.

If your iPhone does not send photos, it may be due to poor network connectivity on your side or unknown problems of the recipient. The problem can also come from your network operator. Whatever the reason why your iPhone isn’t sending images via iMessage or MMS, the troubleshooting options below should fix it.

1. Send to another contact

Sending the image to another contact is an effective way to reduce the source of the problem. If an image does not go to a particular contact, try sending it to another person. If the image passes, nothing is wrong with your iPhone or your network connection. Perhaps the person to whom you have sent the photos without success is not on iMessage, or the contact’s telephone number is incorrect. It is also possible that the number has been deactivated or is no longer using iMessage.

If you sent the photo to another contact and it isn’t delivered either, the problem is probably on your side. Proceed to the other troubleshooting checks below for likely solutions.

2. Check the Internet connection

If your iPhone is unable to send photos to another person on iMessage, the first thing you want to check is your network connection. If you are using cellular / mobile data, check that you have not exhausted your Internet plan or your current subscription. If, on the other hand, you are using a Wi-Fi connection, you must check that the router is active and transmits the data correctly.

You must therefore check whether the network connection is active. A good way to do this is to open a web page on Safari or your favorite browser. If you can surf the Internet on the browser or use other applications that also require Internet connectivity to work, everything is fine with your Internet connection. If not, you should check out our guide suggesting ways to fix internet connectivity issues on iPhone.

3. Is iMessage enabled

If your network is working fine, but your iPhone is still not sending photos via iMessage, you need to confirm that iMessage is enabled on your device. If the function is activated, you can deactivate it for a few minutes and reactivate it. This should help resolve any issues preventing instant messaging from sending images. Here’s how to check if iMessage is enabled on your device.

Step 1: Launch the iPhone Settings menu.

2nd step: Scroll down and select Messages.

If iMessage is disabled, enable it to enable it.

If it is enabled, disable it and turn it on again. Now try to send the photo to the recipient and check if it passes. If not, go to the next troubleshooting option.

4. Check (Activate) MMS

There are two ways to send photos to a contact on iPhone via the messaging app. The first is via iMessage and the second via MMS. Images can be sent via iMessage to other iMessage users via an Internet connection. If your contact is not on iMessage, the images will be sent via MMS – a form of ordinary text message that contains multimedia content – over a cellular network.

If the contact to whom you are sending photos is not on iMessage and MMS is disabled on your device, the photos will not be sent / delivered, but regular text messages will be sent. Whenever your iPhone isn’t sending photos via the Messages app, make sure MMS is turned on. Here’s how.

Step 1: Launch the iPhone Settings app.

2nd step: Scroll down and tap Messages.

Step 3: Find and switch to the MMS messaging option.

If you cannot find this option in the Settings menu of your device (as shown in the image below), it means that your network operator does not generally support MMS.

Alternatively, you can activate the “Send by SMS” option and check if your iPhone is now able to send photos to the contact. If nothing changes, you should contact your network provider.

5. Reset network settings

6. Restart your iPhone

As simple and amazing as it sounds (and sounds), it works. My friend was in a similar scenario where his iPhone was not sending photos via iMessage and MMS. Guess how the problem was solved – by simply restarting your iPhone. You should also try it. To restart your iPhone, simply press and hold the side / lock button and one of the volume buttons. Then move the “swipe to turn off” button to the right.
