If the rdpclip.exe service is already running, right-click it to select End Task, and then restart it as described above.

Here’s another way to restart the rdpclip.exe service for those who can’t find it in Task Manager. Access the following folder structure:

C:WindowsSystem32

Find rdpclip.exe, right click on it and select Run as administrator.

You haven’t finished yet. You should also search for dwm.exe and run it with administrator rights as well.

Step 3: Restart your computer and check if you can copy and paste in Windows 10 or not.

2. Restart Windows Explorer

This will close all open applications and windows. Save all work before moving on to this solution.

Step 1: Start Task Manager again and find Windows Explorer under the Processes tab.

3. Clear history from clipboard

Clearing clipboard history and cache files can also help resolve the error.

Step 1: Find and open the command prompt (cmd) in the Start menu. Click Run as administrator to run it with the appropriate privileges.

4. Antivirus applications

An antivirus or malicious application may be responsible for the error. Try disabling it before checking again whether the copy and paste works or not. It is not necessary to deactivate Microsoft applications such as Windows Defender. Disable only third-party security applications.

5. Run the troubleshooter

Copy and paste doesn’t work in Windows 10 apps
