What Is Easy Mode on Samsung Galaxy Phones
Previously, phones were simple and easy to use for the uninitiated. The user interface has been designed keeping in mind the calls and the messaging. With the advent of smartphones, things have become a little complicated.
Fortunately, manufacturers such as Samsung make it easy to use smartphones with features such as Easy Mode. But what is the easy mode and how does that benefit users? Check out all the answers in this article where you will also know how to enable or disable it.
What is the easy mode on Samsung phones?
As its name indicates, Easy Mode simplifies the user interface of your smartphone. This is the Samsung launcher for the elderly or visually impaired. Easy mode replaces your existing Samsung Launcher interface with its own simplified version.
What happens when Easy mode is enabled
When Easy mode is enabled, the first change you will notice is that it increases the font size and icon on your phone. This includes the size of the settings, the notification panel, the items in the home screen, the application drawer, the supported applications such as contacts, messages, and so on. The screen resolution is magnified in this mode, giving the impression that everything is bigger.
Second, when you press the home button, you will see a different home screen. This is because it replaces the standard home screen with a modified and simpler version containing three applications per row.
By default, you get three pages on the home screen. The first is home to two widgets: weather-weather widget and Google search. Below you will find the six essential icons – Phone Icon, Messages, Gallery, Camera, Internet and all applications.
The left page is accessible by swiping the shortcuts of the contacts on the right. If you notice closely, the photo of the contact is bigger than its name. The photo of the contact is highlighted because it is easy to identify the contact simply by looking at his picture.
You can even create contacts from this screen, which further simplifies the process of adding contacts to a smartphone. To do this, tap the empty contact icon, and then select the Create contact option.
The rightmost screen offers apps such as Settings, Loupe and Play Store.
What does not change when you switch to easy mode
The basic operation of all features and applications remains the same in Easy mode. That is, you receive your notifications, calls, multitasking capabilities and similar phone features.
Easy mode does not mean you can not add new widgets or apps on the home screen. You can add them to the home screen as you did in standard mode. You can even increase the number of pages by adding a new page. The only things that change in this mode are the font size and the layout of the home screen.
Lose data or settings when you switch to Easy mode
Nope. None of your data or settings will be deleted when you switch to Easy mode. In addition, nothing is disabled in Easy mode.
What happens to the existing standard mode?
Switching to Easy mode does not remove the layout from your home screen in standard mode. It stays as it is. When you return to standard mode, you will be greeted only by your old home screen. So, do not worry about switching between easy and standard modes.
How to access other applications in easy mode
If you wonder what happened to other applications on your phone, they are present in the application drawer. To access it, tap the icon of all applications (icon with nine points) shown below.
Which devices support easy mode
Easy mode is a feature of Samsung phones. All Samsung phones – the flagship products (Note and S series), midrange and economical offer this feature. He even supported the Samsung One user interface.
How to enable or disable easy mode
To enable or disable the Easy mode, follow these steps:
Step 1: Open the settings on your phone and go to View.
2nd step: Press Easy Mode.
Step 3: Select Easy mode on the next screen and press Apply. Press the Home button to view the changes.
If you want to disable it, repeat steps 1 through 3. Select Standard mode and click Apply.
When to use the easy mode
If you are a professional smartphone user, Easy mode will seem disappointing. It's because it's not for you. Easy mode targets older parents or grandparents who are unfamiliar with technology, especially people with vision problems who need large icons and text.
For such users, the Easy Mode will feel like a blessing because it is uncluttered and offers the features needed on the home screen. So, if you plan to give your parents a smartphone that will not confuse them, the Samsung phone would be a good choice.
