How to activate Solver add-in in Microsoft Excel if it is not working

the Solver add-in for Microsoft Excel is one of the most important, so we can understand the frustrations when users can’t get it to work as they expect. In older versions of Excel, people had manually installed the solver, but this is no longer the case with the new version of the program.

Not too long ago, we saw users who switched from an older version of Excel to Office 365, complaining that they had no way of installing Solver. Don’t worry, because the start of the task of inserting> Add-ins> Getting add-ins and searching for “Solver” is obsolete.

With the new version of Microsoft Excel, Solver is included by default. You just need to activate it. With that in mind, let’s talk about it a little more.

Load Solver add-in in Excel

1]How to activate the solver

Open your Excel sheet, then go to File, then Options. From there, you will need to go to the Add-ins section and click on the Manage box.

The next step is to select the Excel add-ins. You will now need to click Go to proceed to the next section.

2]Select Complement Solver

You should now see a box that indicates the available supplements. Simply select the Solver add-in in the check box and click OK to complete the task. Now, once the solver is loaded, you can find it in the Analysis group via the Data tab.

3]What to do if the solver is not in the Available add-ins area?

If so, just select Browse to find it on your computer. If you are prompted that the Solver add-in is not currently installed on your computer, you will be prompted. Click Yes to install it.
