Apple suggested that the ‘Hey Siri, what’s my update’ This feature is exclusive to HomePod. However, we have noticed that the daily Personal update is also available on iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch. You can quiz Siri on your personal report and get detailed information about today’s weather, what’s on your calendar, travel time, upcoming reminders, and even a brief press briefing.
All you have to do to activate “What’s my update” Voice control on your iPhone is all about making sure your device is running iOS 14.2 or later. You also need Rental services activated on your iOS or iPadOS device!

- 2. Scroll down to Privacy.
- 3. Activate Rental services.

How to get a personal update on iPhone
Wake up Siri by pressing and holding Side button or using the Hey Siri function.
Order: What is my update?
Listen or read your personal report!
Made: Upcoming events and reminders are only included if you have them scheduled in your Calendar & Reminders app.
How to remove news from Personal Update
Siri provides a brief news update at the end of each report. However, this part may not interest you.
Additionally, the News app is not available in all countries. This will bring up the “Sorry, news is not available on your country’s iTunes Store” Fault.
Fortunately, you can delete the news section of your Personal update.
Order: “Hey Siri, remove news from my update!” and your virtual assistant will skip the news part when you ask questions about your daily update.
What’s my update on Apple Watch?
The feature definitely works on the HomePod as soon as the smart speaker is updated to software version 14.2. As stated above, it definitely works on the iPhone.
Surprisingly, it also appears to be available on the Apple Watch although Apple never mentioned anything about it. You must install watchOS 7.1 or later.
How? ‘Or’ What: Raise your wrist and order “Hey Siri, what’s my update?
Your virtual assistant will display and deliver your personal update for the day!
Made: Our test showed that the personal update feature works and turns off on the Apple Watch. We had interrogations which also returned the “There is no update” Error message.
Another difference is that sometimes the Apple Watch does not include scheduled events in Calendar in the report. However, they do not miss the personal report displayed on your iPhone.
It seems that the feature is not sufficiently tuned, or Apple has accidentally released for Apple Watch, iPhone and iPad. What is your opinion?
