You can finally post to Instagram from a Mac, PC, laptop, or any desktop. This new feature is available thanks to the most recent Instagram update, which now allows users to post images from a web browser.
How to post to Instagram from a computer
Whether you have a macOS device or a Windows computer, the steps are the same:
- Open Instagram.com in your Mac or PC web browser. It can be Safari, Chrome, Firefox, or whatever.
- Log in using your Instagram account.
- Press the ‘+’ icon, available in the upper right corner of the home screen. It should be placed between the Mailbox and To explore Icons.
- Select a photo or more from your computer.
- Add Filters, Captions, Site and or Tagging people.
- To post the contents!
Instagram post from computer not available?
The company is currently rolling out this new feature and it will be available gradually, worldwide!
If you do not receive the new message (“+”) icon, in the upper right corner of the screen, it means that the Instagram desktop posting feature is not yet available in your region.
Advice: Try again later, in a few hours, or in the next few days!
Instagram post from browser on iPhone and iPad
The new option to post to Instagram from a web browser can also come in handy for iPhone and iPad users.
First of all, iPad users currently cannot post to Instagram because there is no Instagram app for iPadOS.
Second, iPhone users may prefer Instagram web posting because they can easily turn off ads.
How to use Instagram ad-free on iPhone
- Open Instagram.com in Safari, using Private mode.
- Just accept technical cookies.
- Log in using the iOS AutoFill feature. (Only works if you have saved your IG account details in passwords)
- Browse and publish the same way you do from the app.
Advice: If you plan to stick with Instagram’s web interface, you should consider offloading the Instagram app from your iPhone.
Otherwise, you will still be prompted to open Instagram through your app. a “Open in the Instagram app” a suggestion banner will appear at the top of the screen.
