Cloud Backup for Microsoft Authenticator app

Microsoft pushed an update of the Microsoft Authenticator sure Android and iOS which introduces the cloud backup feature on these mobile devices. This backup will include user account identification information and associated application data, such as settings, and so on. This means that when you reset your device or install Microsoft Authenticator on your new device, you do not need to add all your accounts again. Instead, you can simply restore the backup of these accounts and recover them to your phone.

We will see separately how to activate Cloud Backup for Microsoft Authenticator App on Android and iPhone phones.

Enable Cloud Backup Application for Microsoft Authenticator for Android

  1. Open the Microsoft Authenticator app on your Android device.
  2. Select the menu button designated by three vertical dots in the upper right corner.
  3. To select Settings from the menu bubble you get.
  4. Under the section of backup, activate the rocker for Backup on the cloud.
  5. It will automatically set the Microsoft account with which you logged in to the application as the default application to perform the backup in the cloud.
  6. When you select Details, you can define your Device name, last update, created and, Delete the backup.

Enable the Cloud Backup application for Microsoft Authenticator for iPhone

If you use an iOS device, your Microsoft account will be set up for data backup.

This backup will be stored on your OneDrive storage and connected to the Microsoft account with which you logged in.

  1. Select the hamburger button at the top left of the Microsoft Authenticator user interface.
  2. To select Settings.
  3. Under the section of backup, activate the rocker for Backup on the cloud.
  4. It will automatically set the Microsoft account with which you logged in to the application as the default application to perform the backup in the cloud.
  5. When you select Details, you can define your Device name, last update, created and, Delete the backup.

If you wish, you can try these features. This feature is available on Microsoft Authenticator for Android with version 6.6.0 and version 5.7.0 and later of the iOS application.
