Fix This page is having a problem error in Microsoft Edge

This page is having a problem

Some users of Windows 10 and the Microsoft Edge the web browser unfortunately has a problem that displays the error, “This page has a problem“Whenever they try to load a new web page. This is not a general problem at all levels, as it only seems to affect those with outdated software.

If you are using an older version of Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP), this can cause problems for Microsoft Edge and even Google Chrome. Now the reason why SEP is causing this problem is that Microsoft’s code integrity feature is enabled in Edge.

You see, older versions of SEP are incompatible with this functionality in the Chromium engine. Therefore, the best option is to update it.

This page has a loading problem – Edge Chromium

SEP is the main culprit here, so since it is, we can promise that solving this problem shouldn’t be a headache of any kind. You must do the following:

  1. Update Symantec Endpoint Protection
  2. Disable code integrity

1]Update Symantec Endpoint Protection

Visit the official Symantec Endpoint Protection download page, then follow the instructions to download the latest version of SEP for your device. Once you are done, please restart your computer and check if Microsoft Edge is now working properly. Additionally, go ahead and also check Google Chrome as it would also be affected.

2]Disable code integrity

If for some reason you are unable to download and install Symantec Endpoint Protection, the best thing to do is to disable Microsoft code integrity.

We don’t recommend it, but if you need to do it temporarily, open the registry and go to:

HKLMSoftwarePoliciesMicrosoftEdge

Depending on your device, this key may differ from what you see here.

From there go to Name and make sure it’s called RendererCodeIntegrityEnabled. Change the type for DWORD (32 bit) and the value to 0.

Finally, restart your computer and you should be ready to go.

Please check Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome again for problems. In fact, if you have installed other Chromium-based web browsers, check them as well, as it is likely that they will also be affected.
