This shortcoming was reported by Janice (iOS 16):
“…I wish there was an ‘alarm set’ icon or something to show it’s set correctly, on the phone screen, so I don’t have to wake up every a few minutes because I don’t know if it will work.”
and Alexis (iPhone 14 Pro):
“I switched from android to iphone and I miss the alarm icon in the status bar. Why does my 14 pro not show the alarm clock icon when an alert is set ?”
How to Show Alarm Icon on iPhone in iOS 16
This is because older iPhone models displayed an alarm icon in the upper right corner of the status bar.
However, this feature has been removed since the release of notched iPhones and the status bar screen real estate has decreased.
Nevertheless, you can always check if an alarm is activated on your iPhone, in the Control Center:
Swipe down from the top right corner of the screen and the alarm icon appears next to the battery percentage indicator at the top of Control Center!
Following: Of course, you can also check if an alarm is active in the Clock app. Tap the alarm and look for the green button next to the desired time.
Use Siri: Yes, you can also ask Siri if an alarm is set on your device. ‘Hey Siri, is there an alarm set on my iPhone?’. Your virtual assistant will show all active alarms and give you the option to turn it off!
