Chrome Canary for Android tests a New Sharing Hub

To facilitate the process of sharing web pages and simplify the process, Chrome is testing a new sharing hub. This new section currently contains the QR code scanner, Send to your devices and the Copy link options, with the option to also add screenshots. The first option allows you to share web pages by creating and scanning the QR code for that web page. The second option allows you to share pages on different devices, provided they are connected with the same Google Account. The additional screenshot function does what the name says, that is, it allows you to capture screenshots.

As mentioned earlier, these features are in the testing phase and do not all work as expected. For example, pressing the QR Code function opens a new window with the possibility of sharing or scanning a QR Code. But that’s it. The option does not work at this time. New Chrome sharing hub

As with other Chrome updates, Google first tests any new functionality in the Canary version of Chrome. And this is the case here. To try out the Chrome sharing hub, you'll need to download the Chrome canary Navigator. This browser is not stable enough and is not recommended for your daily use. In addition, this new feature is hidden behind a Chrome flag.

These flags are experimental features that are hidden from normal users. You can activate the flag mentioned below and try this new section. Steps to activate the Chrome flag

1. Open the Canary browser and enter chrome: // flags.
2. Enter now Chrome Sharing Hub in the search bar.
3. Press Default and select enabled from the drop-down list. This flag will help you activate the new Chrome sharing hub.
4. This unlocks the sharing hub in your browser, but without the screen capture feature.
5. To also add this functionality, search for Chrome share screenshots and activate it in the same way as above.
6. Once you have activated both flags, press the Revive to restart your Chrome browser.

Now you can try out the new Chrome sharing hub. To do this, tap the overflow menu at the top right and select Share from the options. You will now have four different ways to share a web page. But what about the method of sharing third-party apps that existed before? Well, he's still there. To bring up this option, tap on the More option.

Similar to Android, the QR Code feature has also made its way to the desktop version of Canary. But it shares the same fate as its Android counterpart.
