Game settings in Windows 10 include settings related to the game bar, keyboard shortcuts, audio and video quality of the game, broadcasting, etc. To open game settings in Windows 10, click the Start menu> Windows Settings> Games. The game settings window opens. Let’s see these parameters in detail.
Game settings in Windows 10
When you open the game settings on your Windows 10 PC, you will see five categories in the left pane:
- Game bar,
- Captures,
- Diffusion,
- Game Mode, and
- Xbox networking.
1. Game bar
These settings include those that help you use and manage the game bar. You can control the opening of the game bar and control how it recognizes your game. Another function of the game bar is to be able to record game clips, screenshots, and broadcast. Under Keyboard shortcuts, you can determine your own shortcuts for various functions such as to open the game bar, take a screenshot, record, start / stop recording, etc.
Under Associated parameters, you will find the link to Graphics settings which allows you to customize graphics performance preferences for specific applications.
2. Catches
The Captures tab allows you to control how you can capture your game via screenshots and game clips. You can save your game in the background and also set the maximum recording time up to 4 hours.
Audio can also be recorded when you choose to save the game. You can set the audio quality, microphone volume and system volume as needed.
Under Recorded video, you can set the desired frame rate and video quality. As we can see, the recommended video frame rate is 30 fps as the higher video capture could affect the quality of the game. You can also check the box if you want capture mouse cursor in records.
3. Diffusion
Broadcast settings allow you to control the appearance of your game when you broadcast. You can record audio when you broadcast and set the audio quality.
As you can see in the picture, you can click on the check boxes if you want to activate the microphone during the broadcast, use automatic echo cancellation and only broadcast the audio game. Adjust the Microphone volume and System volume as required. Also choose the Broadcast language from the drop-down menu. In addition, you can choose to turn on the camera when broadcasting and capture mouse cursors in the broadcast.
4. Game mode
Activate the Game mode to optimize your PC for playing. Under Associated parameters, you will see the Graphics settings which will allow you to use a classic or universal application to customize your graphics performance preferences.
5. Xbox Networking
