How to explore and download Google Earth images as Wallpapers for your computer

The Google Earth blog published 1000 of the most spectacular landscapes captured in Google Earth. The images have been added to Google Earth View. According to Google, the collection now has 2,500 striking landscapes. Apart from that, the photos have been optimized to support the higher resolution, such as 4K. Here is the view of Yellow Stone National Park, in the United States. In this article, we will show how you can explore and download Google Earth images for wallpaper.

Explore and download images from Google Earth

Google has made sure that you can view these images from the Earth View gallery using the official Chrome extension. The gallery presents a color map that helps you view the collection of over 2,500 locations. If you like a particular color, you can use it to find a landscape that shows your favorite color. Here’s how you can do it:

• Install Google Earth View Extension
• Open the color palette in a new tab in Chrome
• Click the Explore Images button
• Use the slider to choose the color of your choice, then search for these images.

Remember that every time you open Earth View, it displays a beautiful, random landscape. The color map is therefore the best way to find out based on location and color. You will be able to zoom in and out and also access a specific part of the map to find if there is an image that interests you.

Download images from Google Earth as wallpaper

• When you’re on the color map, click the Show Image link. It will instantly display one of the random photos.
• Hover your mouse over the top of the image and you will see a download button.
• Click on it to download the wallpaper.
• If you don’t like this image, move your mouse somewhere in the middle right of the image and click on the next image icon

When you install the extension, it displays a new landscape image every time you switch to a new tab. If you agree, you can also use it as you wish to download it as wallpaper.

• Open a new tab, if you like wallpaper, right click on it and save it to your computer.
• You can also click the Clock icon, which displays the history of all previous wallpapers. Click on it, then select Wallpaper and download it.
• The last way to download is to click on the hamburger menu and then click the Download Wallpaper link to save it.

The menu also offers you to open the new default tab. Other than that, you have the option to share the image, visit the Web Gallery, open in Google Maps or visit earth.google.com. You can do all of this without installing Google Earth software.

Google has collaborated with Ubilabs in Hamburg, Germany, to make this possible. They used a set of tools to browse 36 million square kilometers of satellite images to get the right photo. In the end, the color profile of the images is optimized for the particular landscape before exporting it. Just as Bing uses their images, Google has used these images in many places. It includes Chromecast, Google Home, Voyager from Google Earth, etc. It is quite easy to download Google Earth images for wallpaper. I wish they could also integrate with Windows 10 Wallpaper.
