Google App gets a Labs Section with Experimental Features

Google continues to test new experimental features from time to time. However, it first pushes these updates into the beta version of its apps. Only users who have voluntarily registered to become a beta tester receive these features. If all goes well, the update is carried over to the stable version for everyone. The Google app is another one of those apps that follows in their footsteps. And with the latest update, Google has introduced a new Lab section in the app.

This section contains experimental features that you can try before upgrading to the stable version. You can use these features and then give feedback to Google if you find bugs. This will help Google to eliminate these gaps, if any, before making them public. That said, here are the steps to access the Labs section of the Google app. We will also look at the features it currently contains. Also take a look at some of the other updates from Google Photos and the Google app.

This feature is not yet available to everyone and is slowly being offered as a server-side update. All you can do is update the app to the latest version of Play store or load it aside APK Mirror. Just make sure the version is 10.92.8 or later. Once you do, open the app and tap More. You will find the laboratories just under the Settings option in the Google app.

Currently, you can try two experimental features. These would not be there forever and will be replaced with new ones once the first has reached the stable version. On the other hand, you can now also turn off automatic playback of videos in the Google Play Store. See our guide for more information.
