- Launch the Firefox Navigator
- Click the hamburger icon in the right corner of the window to open the Settings menu.
- Choose the option Preferences from the drop-down menu.
- Click now Privacy settings in the menu on the left side of the page.
- Under History, click the drop-down menu icon next to “Firefox“
- Select the option Use custom settings for history from the drop-down menu. This opens a new Settings window to clear the history.
- In the contextual parameters window, check the box in front of the type of story you want to erase automatically when closing Firefox. You can select cookies, cache, active connections, browsing history, download history, form history and search history to delete as soon as you close the browser.
- In the settings window, you can also choose the type of data, Site Preferences or Offline Website Data, that you want to clear automatically when you close Firefox.
- Click OK to run Fox in automatic mode.
It is important to note that Fox does not perform automatic deletion by default in case the browser does not stop normally. During such an instance, make sure to restart the browser and close Firefox normally.

It allows you to define the number of days during which you want to keep the browsing history. When the period is finished, the history cleaner will automatically delete the browsing history. Note that resetting the days will deactivate the addon.
Install the addon here by clicking the Add to Firefox button.
Launch Firefox and click on History Cleaner.
Click Manage Extensions from the drop-down menu.
