If you use this particular website, your children can only watch videos under the age of 12.
Although YouTube uses strict regulations to filter all content on the YouTube Kids website, you, as a parent, may not want to let your kids watch a specific video for some reason. Since different people have different opinions about online videos, if you want to prevent your kids from opening a particular video or YouTube channel, you can do that. As mentioned earlier, no paid subscription is required to do this, but having a subscription could drop all advertisements.
Block a video or channel on YouTube Kids
To block a video or channel in YouTube Kids, follow these steps:
- Open the YouTube Kids website and watch a video.
- Click the three-dot button and select the Block video option.
- Select the option you want to block the video or channel.
- Confirm your change.
To get started, you need to open the YouTube Kids website, which is youtubekids.com. After logging into your account, you need to play a video that you want to block. Even if you are going to block the whole channel, you must play a video uploaded by this channel. After that click on the three dots button visible in the upper right corner of the video player. Here you can see an option called Block video that you have to click to go further.
Now you should see two other options, namely Block this video only and Block the whole chain: [channel name]. If you want to block on a video, select the first option while the second option prevents the entire chain from appearing on the timeline.
That’s all! Now, you or your children cannot see the specific video or any video from a blocked channel.
Unblock a video or channel in YouTube Kids
If you’ve mistakenly blocked a channel or video, you can follow these steps to unblock it in YouTube Kids.
First, click the lock icon on the YouTube Kids website and solve a simple math problem. Alternatively, you must enter the password, if you are using it to disclose the settings page. After submitting the correct answer or password, go to Privacy section and click on the Unblock videos button.
A pop-up window should appear where you must click on the YES, UNLOCK button. The only problem is that you cannot unblock a channel or a video at the same time.
