How to create a Microsoft Teams tab using an uploaded file

There are different ways in which users can work collaboratively Microsoft teams. The service offers even more flexibility when using files. For example, owners and team members can add tabs to a channel or private chat to help integrate their cloud services. Likewise, they can also turn a file into a Microsoft Teams tab. See the steps listed below to convert a file to a Microsoft Teams tab.

Convert the file downloaded in Microsoft Teams to the Microsoft Teams tab

New tabs can be created in Microsoft Teams to help users easily access and manage the data they need most or interact with the most. For that-

  1. Create a standard chain
  2. Download a file (Excel, PowerPoint, Word or PDF)
  3. Create Microsoft Teams tab

The Microsoft Teams tab is a space for team members to upload, download and share files with other members. Converting a file to a tab allows members to easily access, edit and collaborate.

1) Create a standard channel

To create a standard channel. Find the name of the team and click "More options".

So choose & #39;Add channel". You can also select "Manage the teamAnd add a channel in the Channels tab.

You will notice that for each new channel, two tabs are configured by default:

While for each private chat, four tabs are proposed, by default:

  • conversations
  • Files
  • Organization
  • Activity

If necessary, owners and team members can add more tabs to a channel or chat by clicking "Add a tab’(Visible as a + sign) at the top of the chain or chat.

2) Download a file

When you have completed the steps mentioned above, download a file to convert to a tab. You can download Excel, PowerPoint, Word or a PDF file.

3) Create a Microsoft Teams tab

Now, to transform the downloaded file into a Microsoft Teams tab, select the "More" options (visible as 3 horizontal dots) and from the list of options displayed, select "Make it a tab".

When finished, the file will be instantly added as a Microsoft Teams tab.

Likewise, you can add a website. However, the URL must start with an https prefix. This requirement guarantees that the information exchanged remains secure.
