Realme's first flagship smartphone – the Realme X2 Pro was very well received. It offers an insane price-performance ratio and goes hand in hand with the OnePlus 7T. The device comes with Color OS 6.0 but the Color OS 6.1 update is already available. There is also a dark mode toggle that changes the colors of the system user interface as well as third-party applications supported in dark mode.

However, this dark mode functionality is not available in advance via a notification toggle. It should also be noted that the dark mode function is still in the testing phase. Thus, some applications may not appear as they should when the dark mode is activated. However, if you get a new shiny Realme X2 Pro, see the steps below to activate dark mode on Realme X2 Pro.

Activating the dark mode function saves battery thanks to the AMOLED screen. Since "black" pixels are disabled on AMOLED panels, it is also ideal for night use.

Since some apps may not look the best with dark mode switching, it's good that we have the option to turn it off for those apps. Android 10 is not available for the Realme X2 Pro, which is disappointing to say the least. But thanks to this feature, third-party apps can go into dark mode.

There are a few other apps available on the Google Play Store that allow users to switch to dark mode in third-party apps. But the Realme Labs function has replaced the need for third-party applications to activate dark mode on Realme X2 Pro.

When will the Color OS 7 update arrive?

The company has released its schedule for the Android 10 update for its devices. According to the timeline, the Realme X2 Pro will receive the update towards the end of the first quarter of next year. It is a much longer wait than what most expected. However, the recruitment of beta testers is already finished and those who have been selected will be able to discover Color OS 7 based on Android 10 earlier than the others.

Android 10 brings its own refined dark mode, so we expect to see dark mode on Realme X2 Pro a little more refined. Being the company's first flagship phone, the Realme X2 Pro is expected to receive at least 2 major Android updates. Although we hope to see the next major Android update coming sooner. Until then, you'll have to use the “makeshift” dark mode on Realme X2 Pro.
