How to Insert Google Drawings in Google Docs

If you opt for the latter option, I'm sure you'll be able to create the flowchart in no time, but you may have problems inserting it into your document. Well, there are two ways to do it and that's what I'm going to talk about in this article. So, without further ado, let's take a look at how to insert Google Drawings into your Google documents:
How to insert Google Drawings into Google Docs
Before adding a drawing, you must create one in Google Docs.
Create your drawing in Google Docs
So you need to create your design directly in Google Docs as a first step to eliminate the hassle of importing / exporting. This will also eliminate the need to copy it from the other platform. To do this, simply follow these simple steps:
Step 1: Click Insert on the top toolbar of your Google Doc.

2nd step: Hover over the Drawings option to open the next drop-down menu.

Step 3: Click New on the menu to open a new Google Drawings template.

Step 4: Create your drawing, then click the Save and Close button in the upper right corner.

Your drawing should now be added to the document. If you want to change the dimensions of the drawing, you can select it by dragging it to one of the corners, then clicking and dragging to change the size.

When you select the drawing, you also have the option to change the way you want it to appear in your document. You can have it online, wrap the text around it or break the text for the drawing. Pretty simple, no?
Copy and insert your drawing
Now, if you've already created your artwork in Google Drawings, you'll need to insert it into the document using a different method. To do this, simply follow these simple steps:
Step 1: Click Insert on the top toolbar of your Google Doc.

2nd step: Hover over the Drawings option to open the next drop-down menu.

Step 3: Then click From Drive on the menu.

Step 4: In the next pop-up window, select the Google drawing that you want to insert in your document, and then press Select.

Step 5: Choose whether you want to keep the drawing linked to the original or if you want to dissociate it.

Your drawing should now be added to doc. If you choose to keep the drawing linked, you will be able to edit the original and easily update it in your document with one click.

Here's how you can do this:
Step 1: Update the original drawing and wait for it to be saved on your Google Drive.

2nd step: Go to the document in Google Docs and select the drawing.

Step 3: Click the new Update button in the upper-right corner of the drawing to include the changes you made.

Simple, is not it? Now, if you want to unlink the original to prevent accidental changes to the document, you can click the new link button in the upper right corner and select Unlink from the drop-down menu.

In the same menu, you can also open the original drawing if you want to make other changes quickly by clicking the Open Source button.
How to insert Google drawings into Google Slides (Bonus Tip)
So, if you're also doing a presentation with Google Slides and want to include the same drawing, you'll notice that you can not do it using the methods mentioned above. To do this, you will need to follow these steps:
Step 1: Click File on the top toolbar of your Google drawing.

2nd step: Select the option "Publish to the Web" from the drop-down menu.

Step 3: In the next window, select the desired image size, and then click the Publish button.

Step 4: Click OK at the next prompt to publish your drawing on the Web.

Step 5: Copy the newly generated link from the pop-up window.

Step 6: Now go to your presentation in Google Slides and click Insert on the top toolbar.

Step 7: Hover over the Image option and select By URL from the following drop-down menu.

Step 8: Paste the URL that you just copied into the space provided and click Insert.

Your image of Google Drawings should now appear on the slide. You can then resize the image in the same way as on Google Docs.
