power point is the best tool for anyone who wants to create presentations. This has been the case for over a decade, and we doubt that anything will change in the next decade. Now, over the year, Microsoft PowerPoint has improved a lot.
With new versions of the popular tool, users can now create a voiceover narration to use in their slides. With this feature, there is no need to go past a crowded area, just record the narration and let it impress the audience.
We have tested it so far and can say for sure that it works. Now whether or not it works the same way when you give live narration, it all depends on the preference, and it’s not our job to decide that for you. Our main goal here is to describe how to do it, and that’s it.
Make preparations
The first thing you will want to do here is to make preparations. Make sure your microphone is working properly. If it’s an external microphone, please plug it into your Windows 10 computer before continuing. In fact, we recommend that you use an external microphone rather than that of your computer system.
Additionally, you will want to take notes and rehearse before recording. Doing this ensures that the narration is done in one take. Time is of the essence, so when you can save it, even if it’s just a little, you should do it.
How to record audio narration in PowerPoint
Follow the simple steps here to fully understand how to record a voice narration in your PowerPoint presentation.
- Open PowerPoint slide
- Access the Slideshow menu
- Select the recording time
- Click Save from the start
- Set the recording time.
Let’s see this in detail.
Access the Slideshow menu
The first thing to do is immediately open a PowerPoint presentation and make sure it’s the one where you want to add the narration. From there, select Slideshow, then click Save a slideshow to reveal the drop-down menu.
Finally, click on Recording from the start to bring up the tools designed to start recording. Now your PowerPoint should be in full screen.
It’s time to record
At this point you should see three buttons in the form of save, stop and replay. You will want to click on the Record button, which is a red circle icon.
- Once done, a countdown animation will appear. This gives a maximum delay of three seconds, so during this time you will need to be ready.
Once the countdown has reached zero, start speaking into the microphone to record your narration.
Note that you can pause the recording at any time and listen to your narration by pressing the replay button.
