Are you looking for a way to remove audio devices you no longer use, from the macOS menu bar? I’m talking about those digital speakers that pile up in the Sound menu drop-down list!
How to remove an audio device from the macOS sound menu
- 1. Open Finder from the Dock or by using Spotlight Search (Command + Space).
- 2. Click on Goesin the top left menu bar.
- 3. Utilize Go to file….
- 4. Copy paste the next address :
/Library/Audio/
and knock To come back. - 5. Click it audio folder and go for Plugins -> HAL.
- 6. Right click on the driver of the device you wish to delete and send it to the Trash can.
- 7. Restart Mac and the audio device will stop appearing in the Sound menu in the macOS menu bar.
