Popular streaming apps like Netflix and Amazon Prime keep a running list of movies and dramas you’ve watched recently. So if you’re having trouble remembering the name of the movie you’ve watched recently and want to recommend it to your friends, go to Netflix viewing activity. The setting allows you to see the TV shows and movies you’ve watched on each profile in your account.
View Netflix viewing history
A lot of people don’t know it, Netflix records your viewing history activity. It hides under the options on the service account page. Here’s how you can access and download it, if necessary.
- Connect to your Netflix account
- Access accounts
- Open profile and parental controls
- Check display activity
- Select Hide or Download All.
You can easily access viewing and downloading your history if it has not been removed from the catalog due to license agreements.

Connect to Netflix on your PC.
Navigate with the cursor of your mouse in the upper right corner, on the image of your account until the drop-down menu appears.
Choose ‘Account“, Then scroll down to”My profile»To select«Activity display“

Your profile page will load a list of the content you’ve watched.
If you want to learn more about the story, press ‘Show more’Located at the bottom of the page.
Similarly, if you wish to download the history list, click on the “Download all‘button. It downloads a spreadsheet to your computer that you can browse faster.
The downloaded file can be opened using any spreadsheet that supports the CSV file format.
To remove something from your viewing history, click the “hide” icon. It is adjacent to “to report a problemAnd appears as a circle with a diagonal line inside.
Once done, Netflix will then delete the title and stop using it to recommend other titles. However, if you look at it again, you will have to start the process again!
