If you try to use the Group Policy, but for some reason things don’t go as planned and you see an error in the event logs – Group Policy processing failed due to lack of network connectivity to a domain controller then this message can help you.

From the appearance of the error, many users will find this confusing at first, and this is expected because we do not expect normal Windows 10 users to understand the error codes and their messages. Now we should note that this error appears at runtime gpupdate / force.

  1. Open local security policy
  2. Change the assignment of user rights
  3. Add a new user or group

Here are the steps in detail.

1]Open local security policy

OK, the first thing you will want to do in this situation is to start the local security strategy. We can do this by pressing the key Windows key + R to launch the Run dialog box, and from there, copy and paste secpol.mscand press the Enter key.

This should open the Security policy window, and from there it’s time to go further.

2]Assigning user rights

The next step is to open Assigning user rightst from the newly opened window. You can do this by going to Security settings, and below, select Local policies. Below, click on Assigning user rights. Finally, you will have to double-click on Access this computer from the network.

Basically, what this feature does is determine which user can access the network from another computer.

3]Add a new user or group

Finally, you need to add a new user or group to get things back to normal. In the window that appears after double-clicking Access this computer from the network, we expect users to click Add a user or group. Make any changes, then press the OK button and continue.
