Top 9 Fixes for Instagram Story Highlights Not Loading Issue

Top 9 Fixes for Instagram Story Highlights Not Loading Issue

Even though Instagram highlights were born out of stories, they differ from stories in many ways. For example, they do not disappear after twenty-four hours. And that’s what makes them more exciting. But, unfortunately, the highlights feature doesn’t work for many Instagram users.

Instagram users are unable to create highlights or cannot see highlights from an Instagram account. For some users, the archived history section appears grayed out. And as such, it does not allow them to modify or create reflections.

Are you facing the same problem? Let’s take a look at how to fix the Instagram highlight issue that doesn’t load on Android and iOS. The steps are the same, otherwise mentioned.

1. Restart the phone

If you don’t see Instagram highlights, restart your phone first. Sometimes this is enough to restore the normal functioning of Instagram stories and highlights.

2. Activate Save to archive

For Instagram highlights to work properly, a setting called Save to Archive must be enabled. This saves your stories in your archives. Later, you can add any past story to your highlight. If this is not enabled, you will not be able to use Instagram highlights.

To verify this, do the following:

Step 1: Launch the Instagram app and go to your profile screen. Tap the three bar icon at the top. Select Settings.

4. Check the Internet connection

Many times the problem is with your Internet connection. To start, restart your modem. Then turn off your Internet, that is, mobile data and Wi-Fi. Then turn it back on. Open the Instagram app and see if the highlights work or not.

Second, you should also try switching to another network. For example, if you use Wi-Fi, use Instagram with mobile data and vice versa.

5. Activate airplane mode

Another way to fix network issues that can hinder your Instagram strengths is to turn on airplane mode. This will disable all network connections on your phone. Once on, wait a minute, then turn it off. Launch the Instagram app and check out the highlights.

6. Update Instagram

If the above-mentioned network fixes don’t fix the highlighting issues that don’t work, you need to check the Instagram app. Have you recently updated your Instagram? Or are you delaying one? In both cases, you need to open the Play Store (Android) and the App Store (Apple) and search for Instagram. If an update is available, you will see the Update button. Tap it to update the app.

7. Uninstall Instagram

If updating Instagram doesn’t help, it’s time to uninstall the app from your phone. This will not delete your Instagram account or anything you have posted on Instagram. Only the Instagram app will be deleted from your phone.

To uninstall Instagram on Android, touch and hold the Instagram app icon on your home screen or in the app drawer. Tap Uninstall. You can also open the Play Store and search for Instagram. Tap Uninstall.

To uninstall on iPhone, long press the Instagram icon until it starts to shake. Tap the cross icon to uninstall it. Otherwise, go to Settings> General> iPhone Storage> Instagram. Tap the Delete app option.
