At the end of last year, Xiaomi had confirmed that they were working on the next generation flagship products, the Mi 10 and the Mi 10 Pro. The Chinese manufacturer then confirmed that the worldwide launch date of the Xiaomi Mi 10 and Mi 10 pro would be February 23. Due to the coronavirus epidemic in China, the company has now scheduled the launch of the Xiaomi Mi 10 as an online event only on February 13, for the domestic market.
Xiaomi Mi 10 launch date
Several companies have already withdrawn from this year’s MWC in Barcelona due to the coronavirus epidemic. This list includes ZTE, LG, Ericsson and NVIDIA. However, Xiaomi has not yet canceled or postponed its global launch. So, for now, we can still expect the worldwide launch of the Xiaomi Mi 10 at MWC on February 23. The value of the Chinese brand confirmed the change in its launch plans on Weibo.
Xiaomi never launched a flagship smartphone without a physical press conference with several members of the media present at the event.
Xiaomi Mi 10 specifications (rumor)
If you are not aware, we have an idea of the specifications of the Xiaomi Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro. The phones will launch with the Snapdragon 865 chipset inside. It makes sense because these are Xiaomi’s flagship devices and the Snapdragon 865 is Qualcomm’s flagship processor. Said SoC also supports 5G networks, so the Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro will also be 5G compatible.
Up front, both phones should have a perforated screen like the Samsung Galaxy S10 series. The phones are rumored to have a 108 MP main camera sensor on the back. It could be Samsung’s ISOCELL Bright HMX sensor. The rear camera configuration will obviously have more camera sensors. Depending on a leak, the cameras will support hybrid zoom up to 50X and 8K recording.
There are also rumors that suggest a fast charge of 48 W for the Mi 10. The Mi 10 Pro, on the other hand, could have a fast charge support of 65 W.
At least, the launch date of the Xiaomi Mi 10 is no longer a rumor. We will know for sure on February 13. We will probably learn a lot more on both smartphones. I hope we will see them again at MWC in Barcelona.
