What we have here is another web browser that is a fork of Mozilla Firefox, although it does use the Goanna rendering engine. In addition, it only takes advantage of the Firefox 4 to 28 user interface to offer better customizations.

Of course, the main reason why you would want to use Pale Moon is for its customization capabilities, and yes, its open-source nature. In addition, we should note that this browser operates in single-process mode, which differs from the standard Firefox. Download Pale Moon on official site.

3) Dooble

OK, so we've already seen strange names for web browsers, and it is certainly one of them. Still, the name doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things, especially since Dooble focuses a lot on protecting your privacy. This bad boy will automatically delete cookies, block iFrames and even take advantage of authenticated encryption for recorded data.

The browser looks like Firefox, but we cannot be sure that it is based on Firefox. What we do know is that users can protect add a password for extra protection. Basically, no one could use Dooble without knowing the password you added.

Note that the FTP browser is supported here, so if you want to connect to your web server, well, all of this and much more is possible here. Download Dooble from official site.

4) Basil

Ah yes, another open-source web browser based on Firefox. You must be wondering if we have a connection with Mozilla or something. Either way, Basilisk, unlike Pale Moon, is based on Firefox 29 and higher. In addition, both web browsers are developed and maintained by the same team.

Keep in mind that Basilisk first appeared in 2017; therefore, it is the baby on this list. Plus, this beauty comes with support for modern web cryptography standards, which means your private messages are secure. Download Basilisk from official site.

5) Mozilla Firefox

Now everyone should know about Firefox, an older web browser than many people today. Not only that, but most of the innovations we've seen in web browsers all started with Firefox, the old guard that constantly learns new tricks.

Over the years, Mozilla has started to take privacy very seriously, and as such, Firefox is now one of the most privacy-aware web browsers available for download. If you do not want to be followed by Google, Facebook and other social networks, Firefox is your preferred friend.

For now, Firefox is only second in popularity with Google Chrome, and you know what? This may change in the years to come, as more and more people begin to see how bad Google is for privacy.

Some of the other Open Source browsers that we would like to mention are Brave, Lynx, Midori, Tor and, of course, Chrome – based on Chromium.

All in all, these web browsers are all excellent, some better than others. However, we want you to decide what is best, so go ahead and download them all for your enjoyment. Which would you recommend?
