Apple released firmware update 2.0.24 for AirTags with build number 2A24e. We couldn’t find any release notes available. New features, fixed bugs as well as new issues should be discovered through testing and reporting.

This update has been reported on Twitter.
At the time of writing, there is no official confirmation in Apple Support document about firmware updates for your AirTag. The latest confirmed update being firmware 1.0.301
AirTag 2A24e not available?
According Youssef S., this new version is currently only available for 1% of AirTags. The Firmware 2A24e release schedule looks like this:
- November 17: ten%
- November 25: 25%
- 1st December: 100%
AirTag 2A24e Firmware Update
AirTags firmware update, over-the-air automatically. However, you can force an update by ensuring that the ideal update conditions are met:
- Placing an AirTag next to the paired iPhone.
- Make sure both devices are within reach at night.
- The iOS device must remain online, connected to the Internet, with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi enabled!
How to Check AirTag Firmware Version
You can find out if your AirTag has been updated to firmware 2.0.24 in the Find My app:
- Open Find My on iPhone.
- Press on Items.
- Select your Airtag.
- Tap the battery icon, available at the top of the AirTag card. Does it show 2.0.24?
