Always open links of this type in the associated app missing in Chrome

When you try to open links such as Quip or Zoom, you can see the prompt to open in the correct application, however, the message – “Always open these types of links in the associated application»May not be visible.

Please note that the method involves making changes to the Registry Editor. Serious changes can occur if you make incorrect changes to the Registry Editor. Please proceed carefully and create a system restore point first.

Press Win + R in combination to display the ‘Run‘ dialog box.

Type “regedit” in the empty field of the box and press “Enter“

In the new window that opens, go to the following path address –

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREPoliciesGoogleChrome

If the Google key does not exist, create it. To do this, right click on the ‘Strategies’And select New> Key from the context menu. Then name it “Google“

Then right-click the Google key, select New> Key. Name the new key “Chromium“

After completing the above step, right-click the Chrome button and select New> DWORD (32-bit) Value from the context menu.

Give this value the following name –

ExternalProtocolDialogShowAlwaysOpenCheckbox

Double-click this entry and in the Value data box that appears, set the value to 1.

Close the Registry Editor and restart your browser.
