AnyTrans Review

We’ve all had our fair share of file transfer nightmares. Have you ever experienced moving a bunch of files and the connection turns off halfway? not being able to connect to the device you are trying to share files on? QR code / scanner active? wait too long for transfers to complete? And a bunch of other problems? I know, I have it. And it SUCKS.

So today we will have a full review of a file transfer tool called AnyTrans.

We tested it on three different platforms:

  • Android app
  • Web version
  • Windows software

Technical specification requirement

Access AnyTrans from an Android, iOS, Mac or Windows device. The connection can be established wirelessly via wifi or hotspot, or a USB cable.

  1. AnyTrans – Android Application

AnyTrans is developed by iMobie Inc and was released in October 2018 on Google Play. It is designed to easily transfer your files from your phone to another phone / computer / cloud storage. It can run on Android versions 5.0 and above and requires 15 MB of space.

As this is a file transfer application, it will ask you to give it permission to access your:

  • files / storage
  • Contacts
  • camera
  • network information (wifi)
  • calendar

Interface:

When you open the app, the first thing you will notice is that it is not full of ads. It looks clean and organized and it’s good that it has all the main functions on the home page, so you’ll instantly see options for connecting to another phone, computer, or web version. At the bottom of the screen, you will see options to view your local files and view your cloud storage, easy to back up your files.

You can log in with your Google, Facebook or Twitter account on the menu button on the left side of the screen. There you will also see guides on how to connect your device to another.

The web version is the simplest among three platforms. You can only access your media files, documents, and contacts on this web version.

Characteristics:

  • View files
  • Transfer / backup files to your computer
  • Export files from your computer
  • Translate the page into 5 different languages.

It is very easy to transfer and save files from phone to computer. If you want to bulk upload a bunch of photos, you can scroll down or until the photos you want to import, press the “Select All” button and upload. With a few clicks, you can transfer or save your files.

  1. AnyTrans for Android (computer software)

AnyTrans for Android is paid computer software that allows you to manage your phone from your computer. Access your media files, contacts, messages, call logs, calendar, apps and more.

Interface:

Clean and simple, like all other platforms, you will get everything you need on one page and you can translate it into 6 different languages.

The device manager allows you to decide what you want to do with your files on your computer. You can easily:

    • Save files to your PC
    • Send files to another Android device
    • Delete files
    • Uninstall applications
    • Download files to your phone

The Android transfer engine is an AnyTrans feature that allows you to easily migrate your content. It supports iOS to Android and Android to Android migrations.

Conclusion

Overall, AnyTrans is a game changer. Makes the file transfer and backup process more enjoyable.

Here’s what we liked about AnyTrans:

  • The interface is clean, the functions are organized
  • The application and software are very light. We have never seen them slow down or stop.
  • The connection between the devices is established fairly quickly and they stayed connected
  • Files are secured with enhanced security technique
  • It supports major cloud storage platforms
  • The fact that it is available for iOS, Mac, Android and Windows devices completely defies the file transfer limitations on these operating systems.
  • Android app and web version are free
  • Video and music download function
  • And that he has NO ADVERTISEMENTS!

The inconvenients:

  • The QR codes on the computer software did not load immediately, we had to refresh it several times for the code to appear
  • We were going to try the media downloader, unfortunately it said that an error occurred during the search process.

Suggestions:

  • “Dark mode” option for mobile application and computer software
  • Sorting / renaming options for the web version
  • Optimizing the QR code generator
