Apple Watch does not speak the time when you place two fingers on the screen? It is a common problem. However, it can be quickly fixed by adjusting the appropriate settings and making sure you meet all the requirements!
How to get Apple Watch to speak the time
First of all, let’s make sure you’re doing the right thing. Your watchOS device is able to tell the time when you place and hold two fingers on the screen.
Do not touch the screen with two fingers, as this is the most common error. Also do not force the press this. Just place two fingers on the screen.
Advice: Also, very importantly, you must be on the Watch Face screen. If you’re browsing an app or settings menu, Apple Watch won’t tell the time!
Apple Watch talk time not working?
1. Check the settings
The gadget worn on the wrist is enabled, by default, to announce the time. However, you may have disabled this option in the past. You can check it out Settings:
- Click on the digital crown and press Settings.
- Scroll down to The clock.
- Be sure that Speaking time is turned TO.
2. Still in mode?
This feature also does not work when the watch is in Always On mode!
If your wrist is resting on a table and the time is displayed, but the watch face is not active, touching the screen with two fingers will not trigger the time reading function!
You have to raise your wrist to activate the display and then perform the speaking time gesture!
3. Quiet mode activated?
Apple Watch does not show the time by default when Silent mode or Theater mode are activated!
On the watch face, swipe up from the bottom of the screen to display the Control Center. Is silent mode activated?
Advice: You can allow Apple Watch to speak when Silent mode Where Theater mode are ON, by selecting Always talk in the Settings menu shared above!
Made: The Always talk The option also bypasses the new iOS 15 and watchOS 8 focus modes!
Mickey and Minnie Mouse Talk Time on Apple Watch
The tips above work with all watch faces. However, there are two particular watch faces that can express time differently.
I’m talking about the Mickey and Minnie Mouse themes. When active, just tap the screen with one finger and Mickey or Minnie will tell the time with their distinct voices. Sometimes l ‘Hello’, ‘Good afternoon’, ‘Have a good evening’ and ‘Good night’ greetings are included in the voice interaction.
Advice: Holding two fingers on the screen also works!
Made: One-finger touch does not work when silent mode, theater mode, or focus modes are on. However, two-finger touch works if “Always talk” is turned on!
