Cast on device does not work in Windows 10

- In the left panel, click on Change advanced sharing settings.

- You can now try Cast to Device again.

2]Update network drivers
We often find that errors occur due to outdated or corrupted drivers. There are several ways to update the drivers, from downloading the drivers to manually updating. Today we will see how to update the drivers manually.

3]Check streaming options
Often when we want to do something but we cannot do it, it is because sufficient permissions are not provided. But to be on the safe side, make sure the latest drivers are installed on your system.

- In the left panel, click on Media diffusion the options.
- If multimedia streaming is disabled, you must enable it. Click on Activate multimedia streaming.
- Make sure your device is visible on the local network. Allow multimedia sharing on devices and click Okay.
As soon as these changes are made to restart your system once and you are ready to go.
4]Change device delivery settings in Windows Defender firewall
There are times when the connection is lost due to a defending firewall. The firewall you are using for security purposes may be interrupted in between.

- In the Control Panel, search for Windows Defender firewall and click on it.
- In the left panel, click on Allow an application or feature through Windows Defender firewall.
- Search Cast to Device functionality in the list of Allowed apps and features.
- Be sure that Private and Public, the two check boxes are checked. Otherwise, click on Modify the parameters then check both boxes.
- Click on Okay and you’re ready to go.
This method ensures that the Cast to Device feature is enabled in private and public networks. In short, this is the best way to check for any authorization issues if a firewall is enabled.
5]Check the Microsoft LLDP protocol driver settings
Now the last resort is to check the network card settings. If the drivers for your network card are updated and the firewall allows you to cast your device, now is the time to check the card settings. Sometimes the settings can be changed due to several adapter options available on your system. The basic reason behind this is to use Wi-Fi as well as Ethernet to connect to networks.

- In the control panel, search for Network and Sharing Center and click on it.
- In the left panel, click on Change adaptation parameters.
- Now right click on the adapter you are connected to and click Properties.
- In the list of items used by your connections, check if the Microsoft LLDP protocol driver is checked or not. Otherwise, click the check box and click Okay.
Restart your system once these parameters have been defined. This will certainly solve your problem. If any of the methods fail to resolve your problem, be sure to revert the changes to the Network and Sharing options.
