Although it has not yet been officially published, it finally shows a glimpse of what it might look like in the near future. Learn more about this below. On the other hand, if you want to disable your friend's annoying WhatsApp status, see how to disable the WhatsApp status feature.
Dark mode function in WhatsApp
The leaks come directly from WABetaInfo. This is a fairly reliable source of WhatsApp leaks that most often turn out to be true. But still, take this with a pinch of salt. Although the functionality is anything but confirmed, the same can not be said of the availability of this feature. As can be seen from the screenshots, the dark mode feature of WhatsApp is under the Settings m e n u.
Three options are visible: Default system, light and Dark. Although the last two explain themselves, here is something about the first option. The Default System option will be useful when the theme of your device is based on the time of day. So, as soon as the device theme adopts the dark mode, WhatsApp will follow the same process. One thing to note is that the theme is not quite black (adopted by Instagram), but rather in dark blue lines.
Availability
The WABetaInfo team managed to get the dark mode on WhatsApp Beta v-2.19.282. But they explicitly mentioned that this feature would not be available to anyone even if you install the APK file above from WhatsApp. It will therefore be necessary to wait until the beta version is reached. As soon as it is done, this guide will be updated. So keep checking this space regularly.
Even in screenshots, you can clearly see that a lot of work remains to be done before reaching the beta testers. For example, consider that the yellow text box, which contains end-to-end encryption information, is barely visible. The texts do not seem too good to blend into the dark mode of WhatsApp.
In addition, in the same update, WhatsApp also seems to have increased the time interval of messages disappearing. Previously, there were only 5 seconds and 1 hour left. Now it also contains 1 day, 7 days and 30 days. But as for updating the dark mode, this is not yet available, even for beta testers.
Now that WhatsApp's dark mode is finally showing signs of life, we hope this feature will be around the corner. Fingers crossed, until then.
