Google has announced this festive season with style. At the pace of Halloween and Diwali, two of its applications have interesting features. The discussion apps are Google Duo and Google Pay. The first has added some filters and effects of Halloween. While the other focuses on the festival of lights. Simply complete a Diwali Challenge and the Google Pay app will reward you immediately with Rs. 251. Let’s take a look at these two Google Festive Updates below.
Google Pay Festive Bonanza
Quickly changing the graphics of the most popular digital wallet and UPI platform, Google Pay has come a long way. And now, he has hooked every Indian to his application during this festive season, all thanks to his effective marketing strategy. They recently launched a Diwali Challenge, which will bring you 251 rupees. What exactly is this feature?
The Google Pay festive Diwali update requires you to collect a total of 5 stamps: Jhumka, Flower, Diya, Lantern, and Rangoli. There are different methods to collect these stamps.
- You can either pay 35 Rs or more to your person, send money to recharge or pay a bill to earn a stamp.
- Or you can even use the Diwali scanner to scan a nearby Diya and earn a random stamp.
- The third option is to offer a stamp. When you offer a random stamp to one of your friends, you also receive a stamp on your gift board.
- The last option to get these stamps is simply to ask for one! To request or offer a stamp to someone, simply press the Request or Gift option present in the offer section of the application.
Well, all of this sounds pretty easy at first but it is a lot harder than you can imagine. The biggest challenge is getting a Rangoli stamp. You can get 3 or 4 stamps of other types, but getting a single Rangoli stamp is an almost impossible task. Still, a very interesting festive update from Google Pay, to say the least.
If you’re wondering how to access this feature, just open the Google Pay app. You should now see a “Find a flower or rangoli” dialog box. Tap Try now. You can also access the same thing by scrolling through the Promotions section and tapping the Diwali option. Start collecting stamps immediately. Plus, if you have the latest Pixel 4 / XL, you can even use the Face Unlock feature on Google Play. This refers to our guide to allow the same thing.
Google Duo: Diwali and Halloween video effects
What better way to start the end of the year holidays than to get in touch with your loved ones and dear ones. Keeping that in mind, the Google Duo app has added new video effects for both holiday seasons. There are a total of three new filters, two for Halloween and one for the Diwali Festival. These are added to the six default effects already present. To access it, go to the Duo application and slide your finger to record a message. you should now see the Filter and Effect option on the right. Tap on it, select the desired video effect and take advantage of Google’s new festive updates this season. Hurry up, the offer is only valid until October 31st!

However, strangely, even this update is server side and not everyone seems to have received it yet. Ironically, the Diwali festival has just ended and almost no one seems to have had this update, at least here in India. Let’s hope at least that the Halloween effect is felt before the end of the holidays. On your side, be sure to be on the latest version of Google Duo app.
These are the two new Google festive updates for this season. Let us know if you have managed to get hold of the Rangoli stamp or if you have won a reward of 251 rupees.
