Google Maps is probably one of the best map applications on both Android and iOS platforms. One of the main reasons for this could be attributed to Google's ongoing efforts to improve and add new features. And now, Google Maps has received another update v10.30, hosting two very useful additions. The first is the presence of Incognito fashion and the second update allows you to edit and edit your Google Maps profile. Let's see these two characteristics.
Google Maps mode in incognito mode
The first of two Google Maps updates is the introduction of the Incognito mode. By default, Google Maps stores the history of your locations to keep track of the places visited. It also helps Google recommend places based on your interests. While this is a useful feature in itself, no one likes the idea of tracking their position at every step. Starting with Google Maps v10.30, you can activate Incognito mode and use Maps privately for this period. Activating this mode, however, would have no effect on the usual functionality of the application, which is to route the route in the desired directions.
You might have a question in mind. In other words, instead of using the new Google Maps update feature, can not you just sign out of your Google Account? Well, you can succeed, but count it as a "half-won victory". Even if you are not connected, Google will offer suggestions based on your recent research. In addition, you will not be able to share your location if you are not signed in with a Google ID. This is however possible when the Incognito mode of Google Maps is activated.
Edit and edit the profile of your cards
In addition to the fact that Google Maps incorporates the Incognito Mode feature in the latest update, it has also gained the ability to edit your profile. This is possible directly from the application itself. You can edit your name, add a bio on yourself, change your profile picture among others. To do this, follow the steps below:
- Open Google Maps and press the hamburger menu present at the top left.
- Then press the Your profile section.
- Press the Edit Profile and make the desired changes (for example, give your profile a biography, a new image, etc.). This option has just been added to Google Maps after receiving the latest update.
- To edit your personal content, tap the button Profile settings tongue. In this section, you can, among other things, turn off location history, delete your history, show or hide contributions on your profile.
This was the last update of Google Maps and the presentation of its features. Apart from that, Google has also introduced a shortcut to switch between your accounts. Rather than pressing your avatar and then switching to your other account, you can now swipe down on your avatar. Not so important, but nevertheless deserves to be mentioned.
