HomePod temperature and humidity not showing sensors not showing after OS 16.3 update? There is no Climate tab in the Home app and the current indoor climate readings are missing in the selected room?

This issue was reported by Vincent (HomePod 16.3 RC):
“The room temperature is not displayed. Moisture is also lacking. Why ? »
We can only reproduce this unexpected behavior when the iPhone or iPad is not updated to iOS 16.3 respectively iPadOS 16.3!

Before you begin troubleshooting, be aware that the HomePod’s air conditioning feature is only available for the HomePod mini and the new HomePod 2.
Important: Apparently the original HomePod lacks temperature and humidity sensors!
How to Fix HomePod Temperature and Humidity Not Showing
If you have the correct hardware, updated to HomePod 16.3, and still don’t see temperature and humidity readings in the Home app, be aware that iPhone, iPad, and Mac need to be updated to iOS 16.3, iPadOS 16.3, macOS Ventura 13.2 or later. !
Point: Apple’s wireless smart speaker takes up to 30 minutes to calibrate before it starts displaying room temperature and humidity! If you updated recently, be patient!
1. Include in house summaries
This setting should be enabled by default, but if you’ve played with it, here’s how to enable it:
- 1. Open the house app and tap the HomePod you want to view climate data..
- 2. Scroll through the settings and press Accessories.
- 3. Opt for HomePodSensor name and press Status.
- 4. To light up Include in welcome summaries.
5. Make sure the same setting is selected for the HomePod humidity sensor also!
2. Restart HomePod
If everything is set up correctly but HomePod still won’t show temperature and humidity readings, restart it. A fresh start could eliminate minor issues that may be preventing the sensors from working properly.
How: Home -> HomePod name -> Settings -> Reset HomePod -> Restart HomePod.
