How to Add Music on Facebook Profile and Stories

Yes, you read that right. However, music or songs are not automatically reproduced when someone visits your profile. They will have to play the song manually in the Music section of your profile. You can add multiple songs to your profile, but you can also pin a song that will be visible at the beginning of your profile.
Let's check the music feature on Facebook. At the end of the article, you will know how to add music to your Facebook profile and stories.
Availability of the music function
The music feature is currently limited to Facebook's mobile apps. In other words, you can only use it on Android and iOS devices. It will not be visible on the desktop version of Facebook.
Where is the music on Facebook?
Unless you regularly check your Facebook profile screen, you may not even notice the music section. When you open your profile screen, scroll down and you'll find it next to the Photos and Events cards in life. You may need to swipe the cards to display the music card on your profile.

How to add music to the FB profile
Now that you know the location of the feature, it's easy to add songs to your profile. Here are the steps for your reference:
Step 1: Go to your Facebook profile and tap the Music card as shown above.
2nd step: An empty screen will open since you are using it for the first time. Tap the Add (+) icon at the top. The song library will open. Use the search at the top to find the song of your choice. Tap the song to preview it. Tap the Add button to add it to your profile.

Step 3: Once added, return to the profile screen and refresh it by dragging down. You will see that the music section is not empty now. Tap to display your playlist. To add more songs, tap the Add icon again and the Add button next to the songs you want to include in your list.

How can visitors listen to songs in your profile
When a friend taps the Music section of your profile, he will show them the songs you added. By tapping on the song, an excerpt of the song will be played (1 minute 30 seconds).

They can either add the song to their profile, or visit the artist's Facebook page by tapping the three-dot icon. You can listen to the entire song on Spotify because Facebook has recently added support for Spotify.

How to pin a song on a profile
As mentioned earlier, you can pin a song to your profile. The pinned song in addition to appearing in the playlist of the Music section will also be visible under your name and the photo of your profile. If you know Twitter, it's like a pinned tweet.

Note: You can pin a single song.
Tap the song to play a sample. The user can add it to his profile, see the artist page or listen to the entire song on Spotify.
Now, to pin a song, open your playlist by tapping the Music section of your profile. Then tap the three-dot icon next to the song you want to pin and select "Pin to Profile" from the menu.

Replace a pinned piece
To unpin a song or replace it, tap the three-dot icon next to the pinned song. You can either replace it with a new song from the Facebook Music Library by tapping Replace Song, or delete the pinned song by pressing Unpin on the profile.
Note: If you have already pinned a song, it will be deleted and the new one will replace it. It will not be deleted from your playlist.

As you may have noticed in the screenshot above, you can even add the song to your story. To do this, press the Add to Story button (see below). Likewise, you can add any song from your playlist to your story at any time.
How to remove a song from your profile
To remove a song from your playlist, open the Music section of your profile. Then, tap the three-dot icon next to the song you want to delete. Select Delete song from profile.
Note: If it is a pinned song, it will also be removed from the pinned section.

Privacy of songs on Facebook
All the songs you add to your playlist are public by default. Thus, anyone visiting your Facebook profile can see and listen to these songs.

How to add music to Facebook stories
To use music in Facebook stories, you will need to use the Music sticker. The music sticker plays a selected section of the song for 15 seconds if it is added to a picture or a solid background. If the sticker is used on a video, the music will last for the duration of the video (less than 15 seconds).
There are two ways to add music to your stories.
Method 1: Add music to a colored background
In this case, you can add music to colored backgrounds provided by Facebook. For this, here are the steps:
Step 1: Tap Add to History on the home screen of the Facebook app. Then press the music card at the top. You may need to slip the cards to see them all.

2nd step: You will be taken to the screen of Facebook's song library. Here, find and select the song you want to add. Tap the song to preview it, then use the Add button to insert it into your story.

Step 3: On the next screen, Facebook will automatically play the popular part of the song. You can display other popular parts or the one with lyrics by pressing the star above the slider.

If you do not like automatically generated games, use the scroll bar to go to the part of your favorite song. Tap Done.

Step 4: You will be taken to the history editing screen. Here you will find the song card added to the story. Tap the map to browse different styles. To change the background of the story, touch the color option at the top and select the desired color. You can also use the usual elements such as squiggles, text and stickers to change your story.

Point: Tap the first icon under the color menu to insert an image of your gallery as a background.
Step 5: Tap the Share button in the story to add it to your story.
Method 2: Add music to an image from the gallery
Here are the steps:
Step 1: Capture a new story or select an image or video in the gallery as you usually do when creating stories on Facebook.
2nd step: Once in the story editing screen, tap on the sticker icon, and then select Music Sticker.

Step 3: You will be brought to the screen of the song library. Here, select the song of your choice and use the Add button to add it to the story. Then select the portion of the song using the star or scroll bar. Tap Done to confirm.

Step 4: Finally, add to your story using Share to Story.
