This feature is available on all Realme devices running the latest Color OS software. Realme calls it "Dual Channel Network Acceleration". In addition, it does not require any third party software and can be activated in seconds. If you don't have Wi-Fi yet and want to improve network speed on your device, learn how to increase Internet speed on Android using DNS CloudFlare. But if you have access to Wi-Fi and you have a Realme smartphone, let's see how to increase the network speed on Realme devices.
Enable dual channel network acceleration
This feature is disabled by default. So, you have to activate it manually. Follow the steps below to activate the function on your Realme device.
- Go to settings and press Dual SIM and cellular network.
- You will see the Dual channel network acceleration in the list, tap it.
- Now press the toggle switch to activate the function.
You can also view the apps on your device that support the feature. All the apps installed on your phone that are supported will appear in the list. Some of the main supported apps are Instagram, WhatsApp, PUBG Mobile and Chrome.
This means that PUBG Mobile players can reduce their ping by a noticeable margin when the function is activated. In addition, you can also increase the download speed when downloading files via Chrome or the default Color OS browser.
However, dual channel network acceleration does not support apps like Netflix. This means that the functionality may not be useful to all users. This is why you may need to deactivate the function on your device as this also increases the energy consumption. Apart from that, users with limited mobile data should avoid activating the feature. As this could result in higher mobile bills if you exceed the mobile data limit for your data plan.
Fortunately, the functionality is not a gimmick and it does help increase network speed on Realme devices. So, for times when you need a faster network, the dual channel network acceleration feature is worth it. And it's a feature we hope to see on other OEM skins as well. However, this is something that Android should have by default.
However, what do you think of the functionality? Let us know in the comments below.
