How to cancel Netflix subscription
If you no longer want to watch movies and shows on Netflix and want to cancel the Netflix subscription right away, here are the steps to follow. Whether you’re using the web version or the app for Windows 10, you can easily cancel your subscription. The good thing is that you can continue watching all movies and web series until the original expiration date.
Netflix, the digital media giant, offers countless shows and movies that you can watch on your computer as well as on your mobile. However, if the subscription kills your precious time while you are addicted to it, you should not continue to use this website. At such a time, you can follow this tutorial to cancel the Netflix subscription online and on the app.
This article shows how you can deactivate your Netflix subscription on the web version. If you’re using the Netflix app on your Windows 10 computer, you can also do the same. In either case, you must open the Account Settings page. The problem with the Netflix app is that it doesn’t open the respective page in the app itself and that it uses the default browser to do the job. For your information, we have also shown the process for opening the Account Settings panel from the app. Once you’ve done this from the app, the process for canceling the Netflix subscription is the same.
How to cancel the Netflix subscription
To cancel the Netflix subscription, do the following:
- Open Netflix
- Click on your profile photo and select Account.
- Click the Cancel Membership button.
- Click the Finish Cancel button.
Open the official Netflix site and log into your account.
Click on your profile avatar and select Account from the list. Then click on Cancel membership under the MEMBERSHIP & INVOICING label.
Then it will redirect you to a page where it will display cancellation information.
You can click on the End the cancellation button.
Like I said before, you can continue enjoying all the shows and movies until the original expiration date. For example, if your original subscription expires on June 10, 2020 and you cancel the subscription on June 5, 2020, your account will be functional until June 10, 2020.
If you’re using the Netflix app on a Windows 10 PC, you can click the three-dot icon and select Settings.
After that click on the Account details option.
It will open the Netflix account settings page in the default browser. After that, you can follow the same steps as mentioned above.
What happens to your profile when you cancel the Netflix subscription
Netflix stores your profiles, favorites, display preferences, and account details for 10 months. If you come back within 10 months, you can get it all back. After 10 months, you can’t get anything from Netflix and you have to create the account from scratch.
