It is particularly useful in situations where you are using a public computer or sharing your personal computer with someone and you do not want others to have access to this data.

Whatever or whatever your preferences, each browser allows you to quickly and easily delete the cache, cookies and browsing history. However, the problem lies in finding these options. Don’t worry anymore because we have the answers for you.

The process also helps you to remove any small amounts of unwanted data, which could affect the performance of your browser.

Clear cache, cookies and browsing history in Chrome

To clear your browser’s cache in the Google Chrome browser, follow these steps:

  1. Open Chrome
  2. Select More settings
  3. To select More tools option
  4. Click on ‘Clear browsing data
  5. Finally, select the items you want to delete
  6. Click on Clear data
  7. Restart the Chrome browser.

Let’s see the procedure a little more in detail.

Launch the Google Chrome browser. At the top right, click on “More’Menu visible as 3 dots.

When the ‘Clear browsing data” Opens, check the boxes in relation to the options given.

Select a time range. By default, the option provided is ‘All the time“But you can replace it with Last hour, 24 hours, 7 days or 4 weeks.

To clear browsing data from all of your synced devices and your Google Account, you need to sign in.

To clear your browser’s cache in the Mozilla Firefox browser, follow these steps:

  1. Open Firefox
  2. Click on Open menu
  3. Select the Library option
  4. To choose History > Clear recent history option
  5. Finally, select the items you want to delete
  6. Click Clear Now
  7. Restart the Firefox browser.

Launch the Firefox browser, click on “Open the menu” visible in the form of 3 horizontal bars and select “Library

Then choose “History’>‘Clear recent history

In the window that appears on your computer screen, select a time range as shown in the Chrome browser. However, the options available here are different and include

  • Last hour
  • Last two hours
  • Last four hours
  • Today
  • All

Select the desired option.

Then check the boxes adjacent to ‘Browsing and download history“,”Cookies‘and’Hidden

In addition to the options above, you will find 2 additional boxes-

  • Offline website data – Allows a website to store files on your computer so you can continue to use it when you are not connected to the Internet.
  • Site Preferences – Saves site-specific preferences, such as the zoom level saved for sites, character encoding, and permissions for sites (such as pop-up blocking exceptions) described in the Page Information window.

If you also want to delete the information stored there, check the boxes.

Finally, click on ‘Clear now»To delete cache, cookies and browsing history in Firefox.

The action upon confirmation will close the window and delete or delete the items you have selected from your history.
