Create a dispersion effect via Snapseed

In this guide, we’ll show you from scratch how to add a decay effect. Just to make it clear, it will take some effort to get a perfect scattering effect. There are already apps like PicsArt that have a predefined scattering effect. However, it most often applies the same set of effects to each frame. However, you can achieve a satisfactory result. However, knowing everything from scratch has its own advantages. And if you echo that thought, here are the steps to create a scatter effect via the Snapseed app.

Steps to follow

First, upload an image with the scatter effect. There are tons of websites offering royalty free images (like Unsplash, Pixabay, etc.). Download the one you want and follow the steps below.

  1. Open the image in Snapseed to which the scattering effect should be added.
  2. Meeting on Tools section and press Curves.

  3. Press on Channel and select RGB. Drag from the center and drag the curve down to the right.

  4. Again, press Channel and this time select Luminance. Similarly, drag the curve at the bottom right. This should make the whole image black. Don’t worry, you’re on the right track. Tap the check mark to confirm this.

  5. Then press Edit stack and head to the Show changes section.
  6. Press on curves then on the brush icon. Now paint the part of the image on which the scattering effect is to be added in Snapseed. Tap the check mark when done. Add an image with a decay effect

  1. Then press Tools and head to Double exposure. Press the Add an image icon and select the image with the decay effect.
  2. Now place this image on this highlighted black part and press the Style icon. To select Add in the menu and press the check mark.double exposure
  3. Press the Edit stack icon, then on Show changes.
  4. Press on Double exposure then on the brush. Highlight the end furthest from the subject with Double Exposure set to the default value of 100.
  5. As you get closer to the subject, decrease the intensity of the exposure to 75 and then 50 closer to the subject. But be sure to brush only the black part. Try to avoid the subject during the highlighting. When finished, tap the check mark.

  6. Finally press Finished. This will save your image with the disintegration effect.
