Activate hidden screen recorder on Android 10
The process for doing this requires some effort up front. So, a question might pop up in your mind: why use the native screen recorder when I could easily download it from the Play store. The answer is confidentiality. When you use a screen recording app, it records everything that is displayed on your device.
So it can happen that you also end up capturing sensitive information on your screen. And to be frank, the fear that these records will end up on the application's servers is still there. Preconditions
- First, you will need to enable USB debugging on your Android 10 device. To do this, go to settings > About the phone > Press Build number 7 times> Back to settings > System > Advanced > Developer options > USB debugging. - Then configure the Android SDK and platform tools on your PC.

Configuring the ADB environment
- Connect your Android device to PC via USB cable.
- Now open the platform-tools folder on your PC and type cmd in the address bar. This will open the command prompt.
- Type the command below to make sure the ADB connection is successful (an alphanumeric code determines the same)
adb devices
- Finally, simply copy and paste the command below to activate the native screen recorder on your Android 10:
adb shell settings put global settings_screenrecord_long_press true
Now that the functionality is unlocked, here's how you can use it. In addition, you can even activate the snooze function in Android 10.
Use the native screen recorder on Android 10
- press the Power button to display the Food menu.
- Long press the Screenshot option. This will bring up the Screen recorder dialogue on your screen.
- Choose whether or not to record audio recordings and press beginning record button. You will now receive a notice that all sensitive information can also be saved. Press on Start now.
- Screen recording will now start on your device. You could Break, stop or To cancel at any time from the notification panel.
So these are the steps to activate the hidden screen recorder on the Android 10 device. Note that since you have changed the way you get this functionality, occasional bugs may creep in. For example, during one of my recordings, I was unable to stop the recording. I had to end up restarting my device to finally shut it down.
