But sometimes our phones disconnect many times in a short period of time. So if you’re trying to watch a Netflix series, catch up with friends, or call a family member, it quickly gets boring.

Often times, however, the solution to fixing your iPhone’s Wi-Fi issues isn’t too complicated. For example, your internet provider may be having a bad day or you may need to update your phone’s software.

In this article, you will learn four ways to fix the issue of your iPhone continuously disconnecting from its Wi-Fi connection.

1. Enter and exit airplane mode

If your internet connection keeps turning on and off, you may want to consider manually preventing your phone from connecting to it. One way to do this is to enter and exit airplane mode on your device.

To activate airplane mode, you have two options. Below is the list of steps to follow for the first one.

Step 1: Unlock your iPhone.

2nd step: Swipe up on the Home screen. You will then see the Control Center.

Step 3: In Control Center, tap on the airplane icon. You may also need to tap the Wi-Fi symbol to turn it off.

Step 4: Once airplane mode is on, turn it off again and your phone should reconnect to Wi-Fi.

If you don’t have airplane mode in your control center, you can follow the steps below to achieve the same result.

Step 1: Open the Settings app. Under your name you will see the option for airplane mode.

2nd step: Toggle the on / off switch to activate airplane mode.

Step 3: Deactivate airplane mode again by pressing the same button.

If turning airplane mode on and off doesn’t work, consider turning your phone on and off itself.

2. Check for software updates

Updating your iPhone software is important for many reasons. First of all, it ensures that you continue to protect yourself against potential threats, such as hackers. Along with this, however, your phone will gradually start to degrade if you don’t keep it up to date.

If your Wi-Fi keeps disconnecting and there’s no problem with your router, it’s a good idea to check your iPhone for any updates you’ve missed. To do this, follow the steps below.

Step 1: Open the Settings app.

2nd step: Scroll down to General. When you are there, click on this tab.

To update your software, you must be connected to some form of the Internet. If your mobile plan allows it, you can use cellular data. Otherwise, you can do it through iTunes on your Mac – or wait until you have Wi-Fi somewhere else.

3. Forget your Wi-Fi and join us

If you find that the wi-fi is working fine on your laptop or game console, the problem is probably with your iPhone. One potential solution is to forget about the network on your mobile device before connecting again.

To do this, follow the following steps.

Step 1: Open your Settings app again and click on Wi-Fi. This is the option just below Airplane mode.

4. Check your router

In some cases the Internet is the problem. If so, it’s a good idea to check your wireless router.

Before you do anything, check the status on the front of your router. For example, if you notice that the Internet is not connected or your connection is unstable, turn it off and wait a bit before turning it back on.

If the problem persists, you will need to contact your network provider to find out what is going on.

Repair your iPhone’s Wi-Fi: you have many options

Connecting to Wi-Fi helps stream videos to your iPhone faster and saves you money by purchasing a smaller data plan.

When the internet keeps disconnecting and reconnecting on your phone, try to see if you can fix the problem on your mobile device. If this persists, restart your router.

Since the internet sometimes goes down over an entire area, you might have to be patient until your provider can fix things up again.
