So, are you ready for your first workout with Apple Fitness +? Before you start, you should know that you can use Apple’s premium service with a iPhone, iPad or Apple tv. Unfortunately, Fitness + is not available on your Mac, running macOS Big Sur 11.1.

Contrary to initial beliefs, you can perform Fitness + workouts with an iPhone or iPad without owning an Apple Watch. However, you will not get the full experience as your metrics will not be measured, displayed in real time and saved in the Aptitude app.

Made: You must wear the watchOS device if you intend to run Fitness + on a Apple tv!

How to start workouts in Apple Fitness +

Since you’re already a Fitness + subscriber, here’s how to get your first workout:

  • 1. Open the Fitness app sure iPhone, iPad or Apple tv.
  • 2. Press the Fitness + tab available between Summary and Sharing.
    Made: Fitness + is not available in your Fitness app? This means that Apple’s new training service is not yet available in your area. The supported countries are: United States, United Kingdom, New Zealand, Ireland, Canada and Australia.
  • 3. Browse through the workouts and select the one you want to perform, by tapping on training.
  • 4. Tap Let’s go to start the workout.
    Point: You can also use the Overview option to check what the training includes.
  • 5. The workout starts on Apple Watch. Press the To play on the watchOS device to start training.
    Point: If this is your first time using a Apple tv with Apple Watch for Fitness + you will have to type on ‘connect’ and follow the on-screen instructions.

During a Fitness + workout, the time elapsed as well as your heart rate, active calories burned, and total calories burned appear on the screen. You are also prompted when you reach specific activity milestones!
After completing a workout, you will get a summary of active and total calories burned, heart rateand the progress of your activity rings.
Point: You have the option to share your result with your friends.

Made: All workouts performed with Fitness + are recorded and available in the Fitness app Summary tongue. Each entry is accompanied by a specific photo, the title of the workout and the amount of calories burned.

Apple Watch Fitness + metrics not showing?

Are your training measurements saved with Apple Watch not showing up in real time on your iPhone, iPad or Apple TV? Please make sure you are using the same Apple ID on all devices!

Apple Fitness + Free trial

If you’re not looking for another paid subscription, you can try Fitness + free for 1 month, or even 3 months (if you purchased the Apple Watch Series 6, Series 3, or SE after September 15).
