Samsung never ignores its old flagship products when it comes to pushing system updates. After making Android 10 available for its flagship products 2019, Samsung is now abandoning the system update for its old premium phones. Speaking of which, the Galaxy S9 series gets its first instance of Android 10. As of now, the Galaxy S9 Android 10 Update marks its presence in the European and American region. New operating system update comes with version number G960USQU7DTA5 for U.S. Galaxy S9 users via Xfinity Mobiles. In Europe, Android 10 software comes with a version number G965FXXU7DTAA. Interestingly, the Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus Android 10 update hits the device with Android 9.0 Pie. The 9th generation flagship products of the S series also receive the latest security patch from January 2020.
The new Android 10 comes with the OneUI 2.0 update. The system upgrade brings a dark mode, gestural navigation, a more fluid animation. While Android 10 aims for efficiency and user-friendly features, OneUI 2.0 provides a transparent user interface.
With Samsung updates, it’s a common phenomenon to see European variants take advantage of system updates first. So if you’re from the non-European region, you may have to wait a few days to receive Android 10. OTA updates move in batches, so the new system software will take a while to find its way into all devices from various regions.
The new 7DTA5 and 7DTAA system updates for Galaxy S9 / S9 Plus weigh almost 2 GB. So it’s great to download them using the Wi-Fi network.
